FASTENING: Although pictured without, the butterfly is included

STYLING: Just fine on its own! If you happen to have a double piercing, it will pair perfectly with the slightly larger BY NIGHT EARRING (also in platinum but with black diamonds).

CARE: Ideally avoid contact with cologne, shaving foam, cream or other products. Store in its soft pouch. From time to time wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, using a very soft toothbrush to brush around the diamonds, and gently shine with a soft cloth.

WHY PLATINUM? Platinum is a precious metal, one of the rarest on earth and excellent for fine jewellery. Naturally white in colour, it's also very high in purity (usually around 95%) making it safer for sensitive skins, and therefore ideal for earrings! Harder than gold or silver, it's extremely durable, will never lose its colour, and as a noble metal is highly resistant to chemicals and oxidation.

WHY CHOOSE PLATINUM OVER WHITE GOLD? 'White' gold is in reality not white. Gold is always yellow. To make gold 'white' it's mixed with other white metals and this off-white alloy is then coated with rhodium which renders it a brighter white. However, over time the slightly yellow-ish colour will always resurface and need re-coating.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NATURAL & LAB-GROWN DIAMONDS? Lab (laboratory) grown diamonds are real diamonds, identical in material to natural diamonds, they have just been produced in a different, more cost effective and conflict-free environment.

ARE LAB-GROWN DIAMONDS THE RIGHT CHOICE? It's a complex issue because it's not necessarily a more environmentally superior option and many people rely on diamond mining for their livelihood. In our NEWS section we explore the pros and cons further. We've chosen to use natural diamonds here, but are very happy to use lab-grown - if that's your preference please let us know when you place your order.
